What is a Proxy?
A proxy is a computer that offers a computer network service to allow clients to make indirect network connections to other network services. A client connects to the proxy, then requests a connection, file, or other resource available on a different server. The proxy provides the resource by connecting to the specified server. By making connecting to a server through a proxy, the client can remain anonymous as the destination server only sees the proxy's information and not that of the client connected to the proxy.
